Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) are highly positive about the sector’s pandemic response. Most think that companies are doing ‘all they can to develop solutions to COVID-19’, and nearly seven in ten say the sector has supported the NHS during the pandemic.

Most HCPs recognise pharmaceutical companies’ commitment to tackle COVID-19
Only a third HCPs could spontaneously name a specific action or initiative undertaken by the sector to help the NHS tackle COVID-19 – with initiatives related to R&D of vaccines and provision of medical supplies being top of mind. However, when prompted, the majority of HCPs agree with each statement below, with very little disagreement.

HCPs tend to believe that pharmaceutical companies operating in the UK have done all they can to support the Government and patients
During the pandemic, the sector has managed to effectively maintain relationships with HCPs. In particular, Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and other pharmaceutical employees have kept HCPs up to speed with medical advancements in their field. Some also remember the personalised offers of support they’ve received, and see this as evidence of how the sector has worked to maintain and improve its relationships with fellow HCPs.
Three pharmaceutical companies emailed me personally to check that I was okay, that my family was okay, and also whether they could help in any way the NHS Hospital Pharmacist
I had people very high up in the food chain saying they were not going to the office, and they offered basically to even speak to patients or deliver. The first wave was unbelievable, the things they offered, we never had to do any sort of secretarial work or anything. I was really touched by the things they offered. Hospital Pharmacist
